Harry Wilson is set to make his long-awaited return to the Wales squad for the upcoming Nations League clashes against Norway and Portugal. The Leeds United attacking midfielder has been a key figure for his country in recent years but has been sidelined by injury since March. His return is a significant boost for manager Craig Bellamy as Wales aim to secure a top-two finish in Group A4.

Fresh Faces and Returning Stars

Alongside Wilson, Leeds teammate Joe Rodon is also back in the fold. The centre-back has not featured since injuring his hamstring in August but is included in the 26-man squad. Cardiff City playmaker Rubin Colwill earns a recall, while midfielder Jordan James misses out after picking up an injury while playing for Wolves against the Bluebirds last Saturday.

The most notable inclusion is 20-year-old goalkeeper Joe Duncan, who receives his first senior call-up. Duncan, who is on loan at National League side Southend United from Bristol City, qualifies for Wales through his maternal grandfather from Cardiff. He has represented Wales at Under-21 level and replaces Everton's Tom King in the squad.

Nations League Stakes

Wales are currently third in Group A4, with their only win from four matches coming against Norway in Cardiff last month. They face Norway in Oslo on Saturday 14 November before hosting Portugal in Cardiff the following Tuesday. A top-two finish would secure a place in the Nations League quarter-finals in March 2027, while finishing third would mean a relegation play-off. Finishing bottom could result in relegation or a play-off, depending on other results.

Bellamy's side will be eager to build on their recent victory over Norway, who reached the quarter-finals of the last World Cup. The return of experienced players like Wilson and Rodon, combined with the injection of young talent like Duncan, provides a balanced squad for the crucial fixtures.
