Jurgen Klopp has turned to a familiar face for Germany's upcoming Nations League matches, recalling veteran striker Niclas Fuellkrug to a 24-man squad for November's fixtures. The decision comes as the national team coach continues to shape his side ahead of a new era.

A Surprise Call-Up for Teenage Talent

Among the more unexpected names in the squad is 17-year-old Wael Mohya, a midfielder from Borussia Moenchengladbach. Mohya's inclusion marks a significant step for the young player, who has impressed with his early-season performances. Klopp noted that he is eager to see how the teenager conducts himself both on and off the pitch.

"I wanted to see how he handles himself on and off the pitch, while getting a closer look at him live on the training pitch," Klopp explained, highlighting the importance of integrating youth into the senior setup.

Tough Choices After a 44-Man Roster

Having initially named a 44-player squad in September to assess the depth of talent available, Klopp was forced to make some difficult cuts. Established internationals such as Nick Woltemade, Karim Adeyemi, Nadiem Amiri, and David Raum were left out, while Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry remain sidelined with long-term injuries.

"After having a 44-man roster in September, it was difficult to make these choices, though, in a positive sense, that's actually good news, as more players deserved to be included," Klopp said. "The more quality you have at your disposal, the more challenging, in a good way, it is to make the decisions you have to make."

Fuellkrug's Red-Hot Form Earns Recall

At 33, Fuellkrug's return to the national team is a testament to his remarkable form since rejoining Werder Bremen in the summer. After a challenging loan spell at West Ham, the striker has rediscovered his scoring touch, netting 12 goals in 10 appearances across all competitions.

"He played quite a few games and he has absolutely been performing. He has scored all types of goals and has had an unbelievable influence on Werder Bremen, not only through his goals but the way in which he has played," Klopp remarked. "It was a pretty easy nomination to make and it was a pleasure to let him know he was in."

Fresh Faces and New Energy

Alongside Mohya and Fuellkrug, Klopp has handed call-ups to RB Leipzig's Brajan Gruda, on loan from Brighton, and Stuttgart defender Finn Jeltsch. Gruda, in particular, has caught the coach's eye.

"Brajan plays like a street footballer, he's a beast, and he hasn't got to his potential yet," Klopp said, hinting at the raw talent the young attacker possesses.

Looking Ahead to Serbia and the Netherlands

Germany will travel to Belgrade to face Serbia on November 13 before hosting old rivals the Netherlands in Berlin three days later. These matches will provide Klopp with another opportunity to fine-tune his squad as he builds toward the 2030 World Cup.

Klopp, who took over as Germany coach in the summer following the team's third consecutive early World Cup exit, has spoken of the need to blend youth with experience. The recall of Fuellkrug, combined with the introduction of exciting prospects like Mohya and Gruda, suggests a balanced approach as the four-time world champions aim to rediscover their winning ways.

With a mix of seasoned campaigners and fresh talent, Germany's November fixtures promise to be an intriguing test of Klopp's evolving project.
