Kenyan golfer Daniel Nduva has surged to the top of the leaderboard at the fourth Entebbe Open, carding a second-round 2-under 69 to hold a two-stroke advantage at Entebbe Club on Wednesday.

A Familiar Course, A Commanding Performance

Nduva is no stranger to the Entebbe layout. A regular face in Ugandan tournaments and the 2019 Uganda Open champion, he used his course knowledge to full effect, recording five birdies on his way to the best round of the day.

His front nine was a mixed affair, with birdies on holes 1, 3, and 5 offset by bogeys on 4 and 8. But the back nine told a different story. After a string of four pars, Nduva birdied the par-4 13th and then added another birdie on the par-5 13th to close out a flawless finish.

Chasing Pack Stumbles

Overnight leader Andrew Ssekibejja and Bulhan Matovu are tied for second on a gross of 143 after 36 holes, but both struggled to reproduce their opening-round form. Ssekibejja dropped seven strokes, while Matovu surrendered three.

Silver Opio provided the round of the day among the chasers, matching Nduva's five birdies with a par 71 that lifted him six places up the leaderboard into fifth spot.

What's at Stake

The sh36 million, 72-hole competition now moves into its third round, with Nduva in pole position to claim a significant victory on Ugandan soil. With two rounds remaining, the Kenyan will be looking to maintain his momentum and fend off a determined field.

The Entebbe Open continues to attract top talent from across the region, and with the leaderboard tightening, the coming days promise plenty of drama on the fairways.
